SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS WITH STATOIL DELEGATION
R. Abdullayev said the exhibition-conference abounds in remarkable events and signals drastic changes in Azerbaijan. He emphasized the role of Statoil, one of the major partners of SOCAR, in the progress achieved.
Peter Mellbye congratulated people of Azerbaijan on commissioning of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export pipeline, saying he is a witness of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s unique services in implementation of the project. Then, Mellbye introduced delegation members to SOCAR management and was curious about the progress in implementation of the Shahdeniz project. SOCAR president updated the visiting delegation on the program prepared in the second phase of the project.
The sides concluded that changes occurred in Europe open up favorable opportunities for delivering Azerbaijani gas to this market.
Then, the meeting focused on a number of issues of mutual interest.
