Spanish Interior Ministry stops refusing asylum to Ukrainians pending EU directive

Baku, March 1, AZERTAC

The Asylum and Refuge Office of the Ministry of the Interior of Spain has stopped processing asylum applications with unfavourable results for Ukrainian citizens, while waiting for the European Union to activate the directive to receive all refugees in solidarity as a response to Russia’s invasion, which is expected to take effect next Thursday.

According to “Diplomat in Spain”, the Asylum Office will not process any denial of international protection for Ukrainian citizens due to the war situation in the country as a result of the attack.
