SPEAKER ASADOV MEETS IRAN’S PARLIAMENT DELEGATION

The Iranian delegation familiarized with the Heydar Aliyev Memorial Museum and the condition of work at the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.
Chairman of Iran’s Majlis signed the Guests Book of Parliament.
In meeting, Ogtay Asadov said Iran and Azerbaijan are friendly countries, and Iran is the one of the first states to recognize state independence of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan and Iran are united with the common historical, religion and cultural ties, Mr. Asadov noted.
Reciprocal visits of the heads of state and 85 agreements signed during these visits have created legal ground for all-round cooperation, he stressed. This, according to the Speaker, will further deepen bilateral relations.
Speaking of the economic links between the two states, Mr. Asadov said the commodity turnover between the two countries increases year by year.
The two states successfully cooperate in the frame of international organizations and adhere the same stance, he said.
Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament thanked the guest for Iran’s support for the fair cause of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Mr. Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel expressed pleasure with his visit to Azerbaijan, thanked for sincere hospitability.
Iran is deeply keen in development of the friendly relations with the neighboring Republic of Azerbaijan, he emphasized.
The parties stressed importance of the parliamentary friendship groups and their mutual visits.
