SPEAKER OF MILLI MAJLIS MEETS BULGARIAN DEPUTIES
Bulgaria is one of the first states to recognize stat independence of Azerbaijan Republic, Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament noted. ‘And we are keen in expansion of relations with this country’.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Parliament stressed the role of the heads of state in development of these ties. The documents signed during the mutual visits have set legal ground for development of links, he said. ‘We hope after this visit our relations will much more widen and strengthen’.
The Speaker also underlined that Bulgaria is the member of European Union and would preside at this structure in 2007. Integration to the European structures is one of the foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan and therefore it will be useful to gain the Bulgarian experience.
Ogtay Asadov expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian parliament and state for support of the fair cause of Azerbaijan in the processes connected to settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Soloman Passi thanked to Chairman of Azerbaijan Parliament for hospitality rendered to them, extended greetings of his country’s Speaker to Mr. Asadov. His country attaches importance to relations with Azerbaijan, Mr. Passi underlined. The latest steps made in this direction are highly assessed in Bulgaria, he stressed.
In the meeting, also exchanged were other questions of mutual interest.
