STATEMENT OF SUPREME MAJLIS OF NAKHCHIVAN AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC HIGHLY ASSESSED IN GNAT
Unfortunately, there are such who trusts in the myth about the “Armenian genocide ”. For example, on December 16, last year the Federal Assembly of the parliament of Switzerland has adopted an act on recognition of the notorious “Armenian genocide ”. As a token of the protest against it, on December 29, the last year deputies of Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have adopted a statement.
In this statement, the act of Federal Assembly of Switzerland on recognition of the notorious “Armenian genocide ” was assessed as an attempt to forge the history, it is marked, that the Swiss deputies, carrying out the hostile political order of the Armenian dashnaks and their foreign patrons, have undertaken mission which aggravates the situation on the Caucasus, even more incites an aggressive policy of the Armenians.
“The Armenian genocide ” is nothing than the policy of official Yerevan, allowing justifying the territorial claims put forward against Azerbaijan and Turkey, to cover the bloody actions, which were carried out by the Armenians during all XX century in the territory of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Actually, in the history there was no any “ Armenian genocide”.
The statement condemns the act adopted by the Swiss deputies on the recognition of the "Armenian genocide” as attempt of rough intervention in the internal affairs of the independent states, calls Federal Assembly to put an end to such useless initiatives, as acceptance on itself the role of the international arbitrator.
As was informed, the statement of protest of the chairman of Great National Assembly of Turkey Mr. Bulent Arinc was sent to the chairman of Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Тalibov, whereby it is stated:
“Dear Chairman! All members of Great National Assembly of Turkey have recognized the decision of Federal Assembly of Switzerland from December 16, 2003 on recognition of the invented Armenian genocide with feeling of deep regret. As a token of the protest against the given decision forging historical reality, on December 22, 2003, the Great National Assembly of Turkey has adopted a statement.
With deep satisfaction I have apprehended the statement of Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from the December 29, 2003, condemning the decision of Federal Assembly of Switzerland.
Turkey always was the supporter of the truth and historical reality. But, unfortunately, the parliaments of some countries, which have got under influence of incessant Armenian propagation, suppose historical mistakes, the decisions unfairly accusing our people make.
Solidarity and cooperation of peoples of Azerbaijan and Turkey against similar injustice has huge value. I believe that the Statement of Supreme Majlis is the fine certificate of strong friendship and solidarity between our peoples.
I express you and all members of Supreme Majlis the most intimate gratitude for the important statement adopted by you, I wish you successes in work ”.
