THE PRESIDENT ARRIVES IN KIEV
Here, President Ilham Aliyev responded to questions from journalists.
-Mr. President, What do you expect form the GUAM’s Kiev summit?
-The organization is taking new shapes, it’s under development. The Kiev summit is very important in terms of improvement of the organization’s management mechanisms. So, we hope that a fruitful work will be done, and that the summit will foster the development of our relations. Our relations are multisided, it covers all the fields – political, economic, energy security and transportation; there is a wide scope for cooperation.
-Mr. President, are you going to announce new energy transportation projects?
- These issues are in the stage of discussions. As you know, Azerbaijan is successfully implementing the projects of global importance. The energy projects now being implemented in Azerbaijan are the world’s largest ones. We have very good experience in this field. Very positive elements of regional cooperation are already seen. So, all the possible future elements of the fruitful cooperation will be discussed. It is not yet the question of new energy projects. We are in the stage of their feasibility study. I am sure that cooperation between the GUAM member countries will largely cover the energy field.
