TO SECOND WOMEN CONGRESS
I congratulate you most cordially on the opening of the 2nd Women Congress of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan.
The role of women has been always highly appraised in Azerbaijani society. We have always been proud of intellectual level of our women. The unity of beauty and pure internal world, patience, self-control turned Azerbaijani woman into a symbol of firmness and devotion. Odes were written in her honor, she was named a mother of wise and heroes.
Azerbaijani woman has written in her name into hard pages of our history, as a careful mother, a talented poetess, ruler with iron will, thinker with analytical brains. With a sense of proud, it should be remarked, that our women, following the road of their forefathers, have taken a worthy place among world women.
During five years that have passed since the last congress, good results in public and political economic and cultural life of the republic have been achieved. Integration of Azerbaijan into modern world community has become more intensive and invertible. Azerbaijan has joined wide-range international projects, turned into a full member in the family of nations, taken an immediate part in resolution of mankind problems.
Our women, who keep the position of national independence above all others, has permanently been in the epicenter of these processes, contributed into grandiose work of turning Azerbaijan into a happy, powerful, flourishing and developed country, where peace and security dominate.
This is the first congress of women in the 21st century. I am sure that the congress acknowledging its important mission in the society will become a new stage in development of women movement in Azerbaijan and will promote achievement of more success by our women.
I wish success to your congress, I wish a good health, happiness, more activity in the name of our country’s future to every Azerbaijani woman.
