TURKEY AND AZERBAIJAN SIGN AGREEMENT ON ECOLOGY COOPERATION

Huseyngulu Bagirov, Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and Osman Pepe, Minister of Environment and Forestry of Turkey signed July 26 in Ankara the agreement on cooperation in the field of ecology.

Before the signing ceremony, Ministers discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of ecology. Osman Pepe reminded with satisfaction his visit to Baku two years ago. He noted that agreement signed at that time gave impetus to the bilateral cooperation for protecting the environment.

Mr. Bagirov, in his turn, dwelt on the work done to protect ecology in Azerbaijan.

Zakir Hashimov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Ankara attended the meeting.

Visit of the Azeri delegation led by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources is underway. On July 28, the delegation will visit national park “Abant” in Bolu.
