UN chief condemns bomb attacks on mosques in Pakistan

Baku, November 6 (AZERTAC). UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks on two mosques in northwestern Pakistan, which left more than 70 people dead, including a number of children, Xinhua informed.

"The Secretary-General is dismayed by the indiscriminate killing of civilians in a place of worship, which no cause can justify," Ban`s spokesperson said in a statement.

Ban extended his condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Pakistan.

Two mosques in Pakistan were attacked on Friday. A suicide bomber blew up himself in a mosque near Darra Adam Khel tribal region, some 30 km from Peshawar, killing at least 67 and wounding over 90.

In another bomb attack, at least seven worshippers were killed in a mosque near Peshawar.
