UNWTO`s Secretary-General meets Azerbaijan Minister of Transport
Baku, November 18 (AZERTAC). The delegation led by Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai held a meeting with Azerbaijan Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov.
The meeting featured discussions on tourism industry development in the world and Azerbaijan`s tourism potential.
Ziya Mammadov provided information on President Ilham Aliyev-led reforms being carried out in Azerbaijan and attention paid to the tourism sector.
“Highways in the direction to the North, South and West are being reconstructed to international standards; intensive work is going on to build the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. The railway connecting Asia and Europe will contribute the development of tourism sector in Azerbaijan,” Mr. Mammadov added.
Taleb Rifai touched on air and motor transports. He stressed the significance of the progress achieved in Azerbaijan in transport sector.
