USA READY TO RENDER EVERY KIND OF ASSISTANCE TO AZERBAIJAN CUSTOMS SERVICES
Chairman of the Customs Committee stated that he is ready to sign an agreement on mutual aid and cooperation on customs-related matters between Azerbaijan Government and the United States and recalled his visit to the USA under the US Government’s “Export Control and Related Border Security assistance program” through which he familiarized himself with the US customs service’s operations. He described this visit as another successful step towards deepening cooperation between customs services of two countries.
US Ambassador congratulated A. Aliyev on his appointment as chairman of the State Customs Committee and wished every success in his further activities.
Ambassador positively assessed the efficient control of borders ensured by the customs service of Azerbaijan and expressed US Government’s willingness to help build the capacity of Azerbaijan customs services.
R. Harnish expressed his satisfaction with the economic development of Azerbaijan and noted that the United States of America pay a special attention to cooperation with Azerbaijan as a reliable partner. He also hoped that cooperation between the customs bodies would further develop with more steps to be taken to give a kick-start to development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed the other issues of mutual interest.
