A festive event dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Victory was organized in Gothenburg, Sweden, with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and organized by the Azerbaijan-Karabakh Center.
The event was hosted by active young Azerbaijanis living in Sweden—Gulnisa Ibrahimova, Farida Talibli, and Masuma Rustamli.
The celebration began with patriotic performances by children. The dear memory of the martyrs was honored with a minute of silence, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, officially opening the event.
Young members of the children’s “Kharibulbul” dance group performed national dances and received enthusiastic applause. Nurlana Veysova, who came from Belgium, performed the songs “Shusha’s Mountains,” “Azerbaijan,” and “Karabakh,” adding a special spirit to the event.
Ulviyya Najafova, head of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh Center and Gothenburg coordinator of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Sweden, took the stage and greeted the participants, conveying congratulations and sincere wishes to the people on Victory Day. She emphasized that the main architects of this Victory are our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, our veterans who displayed heroism despite injuries, our strong and valiant Army, our united and resilient Azerbaijani people, and Supreme Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev.
At the end of the event, winners of a drawing competition held among children on the occasion of September 27 – Remembrance Day were announced and presented with gifts.
During the ceremony, a small exhibition featuring national attributes was also displayed.
