Washington observes Azerbaijan’s Victory Day with special event

An event dedicated to November 8 – Azerbaijan’s Victory Day was held in Washington, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States.
The ceremony brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, military attachés, members of the Azerbaijani community in the U.S., and other guests.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence to honor the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Addressing the gathering, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United States Khazar Ibrahim noted that November 8 marks the day when justice triumphed for Azerbaijan. He emphasized that this victory represents not only the restoration of justice for the Azerbaijani people and Azerbaijanis worldwide, but also for the entire region and the world.
A video dedicated to Victory Day was then screened.
In his remarks, Kamran Tahirbeyli, Azerbaijan’s Acting Military Attaché to the United States, emphasized that Azerbaijan looks to the future with the hope that the South Caucasus will become a region of connectivity, prosperity, and friendship among its peoples.
The event concluded with performances of Azerbaijani music by kamancha virtuoso Togrul Orujov and pianist Faig Abdullayev.
