World Food Day marked in country`s Agdam region
Agdam, October 17 (AZERTAC). The World Food Day, October 16, was marked in Agdam region of the country the initiator of which was the Barda Office of FAO.
The event was attended by representatives of Agdam Region Executive power, the embassies of Brazil and Switzerland in Azerbaijan, the Swiss Development and Cooperation Organization, international and local organizations and farmers.
The World Food Day is being marked since 1979. The goal is to raise awareness of the population on the food problems at present, and strengthen solidarity in fight against famine and poverty in world.
The farmers more active in the developmental project fro 2009-2012s being implemented by FAO and financed by the governments of Azerbaijan and Switzerland on raising ability of the IDPs in Agdam region, have been awarded.
