WORLD FOOD PROGRAM’S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR VISITS REFUGEE CAMPS
The guest visited refugee camps located in Sabirabad, Imishli and Bilasuvar regions, familiarized with their vital activities. The internally displaced persons expressed gratitude to Mr. Morris for prolongation of the rendered humanitarian assistance for another two years.
It was gratefully noted that during his visit to Italy in February 2005, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with the WFP’s Deputy Executive Director and stated on necessity of continuation of the humanitarian assistance to the refugees and IDPs until they return to their homelands. As a result, the mentioned Organization has adopted decision on rendering assistance to the refugees, IDPs and the vulnerable at amount $15,66 million for the period from July 2006 till June 2008.
The high guest expressed concern and regret with the difficulties he witnessed in the refugee camps.
