WORLD SUMMIT OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS OPENS IN MOSCOW
The president of Russia Vladimir Putin, having attended the Forum, said the Forum would promote adjustment of closer dialogue between faiths and nations of the world. At his opinion, it is possible to oppose with this dialogue to new threats with which the world has collided. President of Russia has called to realize possible consequences of the conflict of civilizations and to what consequences this confrontation can lead.
At the Forum, later presided by the Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia Alexy II, speaking were religious leaders of Iran, Israel and others. The orators spoke about necessity of the coordination of positions for rising of moral principles in the today's world, about necessity to act form common position against use of religion with a view of terrorism and extremism.
“To conduct such prestigious World Summit of Religious Leaders is a significant event’, Allahshukur Pashazade said. “As the co-chairman of the Inter-religious Council of Russia, with my colleague Patriarch Alexy II, I have made proposal about carrying out of the similar summit. Its overall objective is to bring to spiritual leaders and people unanimous opinion that the religion cannot be used with a view of terrorism and extremism, it should serve for the good of people, promote increase moral and cultural values’, he emphasized.
