World`s largest floral installation breathes life into 380

Emirates has unveiled its latest A380 — but this one will never carry passengers or take to the skies.
According to escape.com, created from an incredible 500,000 fresh flowers and plants at Dubai Miracle Garden, the world’s largest floral installation will have a total stem count of a five million flowers when in full bloom.
By then it will weigh over 100-tonnes — still a fraction of the weight of an actual A380 at 575-tonnes.
Divisional Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand, Boutros Boutros, said they hoped to “inform, inspire and delight visitors to Dubai through the sheer scale and beauty of the floral A380”.
Co-Founder and Creator of Dubai Miracle Garden, Abdel Naser Rahhal, said the Emirates A380 installation was a great achievement.
A 30-tonne steel structure formed the framework for the flowers, which include snapdragon, marigold, petunia, geranium and viola.
All the flowers and plants were grown and harvested over a four-month period at the Miracle Garden nurseries in the United Arab Emirates.
Over 9000 flowers and plants made up the Emirates logo, and 100,000 blossoms formed the enormous wings of the A380 which stretch over 80.27 metres wide.
It will be on display in the Dubai Miracle Garden from November 27 with a complex irrigation system helping to keep the flowers alive and fresh.
