YAP DEPUTY CHAIRMAN MEETS MEDIA REPS
Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov met Monday with representatives of leading media outlets on the occasion of the National Press Day.
Ahmadov told of the work done to ensure freedoms of speech and media in Azerbaijan and outstanding tasks.
YAP deputy chairman said President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues national leader Heydar Aliyev`s policy aimed at developing press in Azerbaijan.
Ali Ahmadov described Azerbaijani press as the strongest and most developed in the region. According to him, the main problem of the press is the politization of media.
Ahmadov noted the media serving the progress of the society is what the government of Azerbaijan is seeking. He called on the journalists to be more objective during upcoming presidential elections
A group of media representatives including employee of the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency were awarded by the YAP.
YAP Deputy Executive Secretaries Siyavush Novruzov and Mubariz Gurbanly were present at the meeting.
