7 killed in bus-truck collision in S. Egypt

Baku, August 20, AZERTAC
Seven people were killed and 22 others injured on Friday in a bus-truck collision in Minya Province in southern Egypt, according to Xinhua.
The tragedy took place when a passenger bus and a truck collided on the Minya desert road, Minya security chief Osama Abdel-Azim told Xinhua, adding ambulances have rushed the injured to hospitals.
Traffic accidents are common and claim thousands of lives every year in Egypt. Most of the accidents are caused by speeding, poor maintenance of roads and lax enforcement of traffic regulations.
Over the past few years, Egypt has been upgrading its road network by building new roads and bridges and repairing old ones to reduce traffic accidents.
