Baku, May 25, AZERTAC

Inter Milan became the back-to-back Coppa Italia (Italian Cup) champions following a 2-1 win against Fiorentina on Wednesday, according to Anadolu Agency.

Nicolas Gonzalez scored an early opener for Fiorentina to give a 1-0 lead to his team in the final at Rome's Olimpico Stadium. He was unmarked at the far post to finish.

Inter's Marcelo Brozovic fed Lautaro Martinez as the Argentine forward beat Fiorentina's offside trap to score the equalizer in the 29th minute.

The Nerazzurri came back in the 37th minute as Martinez was again on the scoresheet.

The 25-year-old fired a right-footed volley after Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella's cross from the edge of the box to score the winning goal.

With his double against Fiorentina, Martinez, an Inter forward since 2018, scored 101 goals for the Nerazzurri.

Inter have won the Italian Cup nine times to tie Roma.

Juventus are the record holders, with 14 titles.

This year's finalists Fiorentina secured the title six times, the last in 2001.
