A WAHHABI GROUP OF CRIMINALS DETAINED
As earlier reported, the embassy of the United States in Baku has gone to limited operations in connection with security concerns.
To this end, the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan said:
As a result of search-operation, a group of radical Wahabites has been prevented from carrying out terrorist acts against state structures, as well as the embassy of the United States in Baku.
As stated, criminal case has been launched on the fact, intensive detective and search operations are underway to neutralize the other members of the group.
Officer of military unit N of Defense Ministry, lieutenant Kamran Asadov entered crime with the other members of group of radical Wahhabites, stole 4 submachine guns, 1 PK hand-grenade, 20 hand grenades, a lot of cartridges for submachine gun and ammunition and left the military unit.
Kamran Asadov and other group members arrived in Baku after concealing fire-arms and military equipments in Ismayilli region. As unformed, the National Security Ministry (NSM) detained a group of those persons during search operations carried out in house 104, Mashtaga settlement, Sabunchu district of Baku at 03.00 a.m. on October 27.
A member of the group was killed while attempting to resist.
The search-operation actions are underway to neutralize other members of group.
The public will be informed on further operations.
