ASAN Volunteers Youth Organization holds first congress
Baku, December 19(AZERTAC). The first congress of the ASAN Volunteers Youth Organization has today been held at the Baku Business Centre.
Making a keynote speech at the congress, Fuad Alasgarov, the Head of the Department for Work with Law-Enforcement Bodies of the Presidential Administration, spoke about the establishment of ASAN service, enhancement of its activity.
Delivering a speech at the event Elnur Aslanov, the head of the Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of the Presidential Administration, touched upon the role of the youth in development of information and communication technologies.
“Youth centers and complexes open in the Azerbaijan`s regions for the development of youth. A presidential award has been established for the youth for the first time. Of course, all these are big incentives and indicators of trust in and expectations from youth,” Aslanov said.
Elnur Aslanov stressed that according to the statistical figures there are more than 1,120,000 Facebook users and tens of thousands Twitter users in Azerbaijan.
At the end of his speech the head of the Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of the Presidential Administration noted the importance of active participation of the Azerbaijani users in such online information platforms as Wikipedia. He regretted that there only 500 active users out of 65800 ones existing in the Azerbaijani section of the Wikipedia.
