AZERBAIJAN, EU: STRATEGIC PARTNERS
Azerbaijan Representation of the European Commission has presented its first annual Report on state of implementation of the Plan of Actions, signed in the frame of European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) between the European Commission and Azerbaijan.
According to the Baku-based EC representative office, Mr. Waddams presented the Report at a special press conference in the Baku International Press Centre on April 4.
As stated, the Report covers only progress in 2007. Last December Azerbaijan gave its own report to the European Commission to become a base to prepare its document. The EC promises to submit the report by this March or April. Azerbaijan’s own report contains only list of taken measures as it expects that the analytic work will be done within the document being prepared by EC.
ENP for Azerbaijan started operating since January 1, 2007 within general program for period until 2013. The program covers remote reserve of European Union, if the latter decides to continue its expansion.
Ambassadors of Romania, Poland, Bulgaria and Italy to Azerbaijan, as well as diplomats from German and French Embassies in Baku attended the presentation.
