Azerbaijan, European Court of Human Rights discuss cooperation

Azerbaijani Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov has met with President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) Guido Raimondi to discuss relations between the country and the organization.
Mammadov hailed Azerbaijan-ECHR cooperation as fruitful. He said Azerbaijani judges attend ECHR conducted trainings.
The minister highlighted court reforms carried out in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, including the strengthening of independence of judges, modernization of court infrastructure, introduction of the electronic court system and application of European standards in ensuring transparent selection of judges.
Raimondi hailed court and legal reforms in Azerbaijan. He noted that Azerbaijan pays special attention to the execution of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.
