Azerbaijan, France discuss prospects for military cooperation

Baku, December 20 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani minister of defence, colonel-general Zakir Hasanov has met French Ambassador to the country Pascal Meunier.

According to the ministry, the Ambassador congratulated Hasanov on his appointment to the post of minister of defence and hailed the development of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France.

Touching upon the military and political situation in the region, the minister said the Armenian aggressive policy against Azerbaijan still continues and it damages the peace process and delays negotiations on solution of the problem.

They exchanged views on the Azerbaijan-France military ties and other matters of common interest.

France's accredited military attache to Azerbaijan Lieutenant Colonel Andre Evrari was also present at the event.
