Azerbaijan, Israel discuss prospects for cooperation within international organizations
Baku, April 22 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Israeli Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Knesset (Parliament), Avigdor Lieberman as part of his visit to Israel.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation between the two countries within international organizations.
The meeting featured discussions on the regional developments, in particular the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Azerbaijani FM expressed his confidence on just settlement of the conflict. He said that as a member of the UN Security Council, Azerbaijan closely observed the situation in the Middle East.
Hailing the Azerbaijan-Israel relations, Lieberman noted there was great potential for expansion of the bilateral cooperation in many fields.
They also exchanged views on cooperation in the field of tourism and prospects for the interparliamentary ties. The Israeli official hailed the role of Azerbaijan in development of the region.
