Azerbaijan joins diplomatic briefing on WTDC-25 in Geneva

A diplomatic briefing was organized for UN missions and representatives of the international community at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) headquarters in Geneva, ahead of the upcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), scheduled to take place in Baku in November.
The session was chaired by ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau Cosmas Lakison Zavazava, and Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Office in Geneva and other international organizations Galib Israfilov.
The briefing highlighted key objectives of the WTDC-25 in Baku, outlining its significant role in promoting universal, affordable, and accessible connectivity to shape an inclusive and sustainable digital future.
Participants were also provided with information on the logistical preparations, registration process, accommodation, transport provision and sustainability measures carried out within the conference.
It was noted that the simplified electronic visa system for WTDC-25 participants is now active and available for use through the official online portal, which makes the process of entering Azerbaijan more convenient and accessible.
The ITU leadership expressed its gratitude to the Azerbaijani government, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Digital Development and Transport for their close collaboration and continued support in the preparation for WTDC-25.
