Azerbaijan-Kuwait Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation holds second meeting in Baku
Baku, February 14 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijan-Kuwait Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation has today held its second meeting in Baku.
The co-chairs of the commission are Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Azerbaijan and Kuwait signed several documents on cooperation in various areas.
The documents include “Cooperation agreement between governments of Azerbaijan and Kuwait on security and fight against crime”, “Cooperation agreement between governments of Azerbaijan and Kuwait on culture”, “Cooperation agreement between governments of Azerbaijan and Kuwait on customs and mutual assistance”, “Memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic and Diplomatic Institute named after Saud Al Nasser Al Sabah under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait” and “Protocol of the second meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kuwait Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation”.
Minister Mammadyarov praised the bilateral relations, saying there were huge opportunities to further strengthen the relationship.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah praised the results of his visit to Azerbaijan.
They stressed high level political dialogue between the two states, and underlined the existing potential to expand cooperation across wide range of spheres, including economy, energy, trade and mutual investment making.
They also stressed that the signed agreements would strengthen a legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
