Azerbaijan, Libya discuss bilateral relations
Baku, February 9 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani ambassador to Libya Agasalim Shukurov has met the country`s minister for foreign affars and international cooperation, Mohamed Imhamid Abdulaziz to discuss prospects for developing the bilateral relations.
Shukurov praised Azerbaijan-Libya political ties. According to him, appointment of Libya`s ambassador to Azerbaijan would be important for further expansion of bilateral relations.
The ambassador noted Azerbaijan supported democratic reforms in Libya and was ready to help the country in state building process. The diplomat praised the fact that Libya supports Azerbaijan`s position within international organizations.
The ambassador said though Azerbaijan faced serious problems when it regained independence in 1991, today the country is developing rapidly in all spheres. He also underlined the necessity establishing a joint commission, adding it would be important for development of the Azerbaijan-Libya economic cooperation.
Ambassador Shukurov also spoke of Azerbaijan`s accomplishments in tourism sector.
Mohamed Imhamid Abdulaziz said using Azerbaijan`s experience in state building process was possible. He added the appeal on appointment of Libyan ambassador to Azerbaijan would definitely be taken into consideration.
