Azerbaijan, UK explore healthcare cooperation

Teymur Musayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health, met with a delegation led by Lord John Alderdice, UK Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia.
The meeting was also attended by Fergus Auld, UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and Alexander Tyrrell, the Country Director of the UK Department for Business and Trade.
Minister Teymur Musayev noted that relations between Azerbaijan and UK are showing a trend of dynamic development. He emphasized that National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s visits to UK in 1994 and 1998 formed the main pillar for establishing multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. According to the Minister, there are dynamically developing multifaceted relations covering many areas between the two countries.
Highlighting President Ilham Aliyev’s consistent attention and care toward protecting the health of citizens, Teymur Musayev said: “Attention and care for the families of martyrs and war veterans is one of the main priority directions of state policy. At the same time, many medical services are provided for our veterans at the Ministry’s Sanatorium and Resort Rehabilitation Center.”
The Azerbaijani Health Minister expressed hope that cooperation in scientific-medical and other areas would continue to develop successfully in the future.
Lord John Alderdice noted that UK pays special attention to developing its relations with Azerbaijan. According to him, these relations are not limited only to trade and investment but are also based on the principles of long-term partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Praising the Azerbaijani state’s attention and care toward the families of martyrs and war veterans, Lord John Alderdice expressed UK’s readiness to provide appropriate support in this direction.
The meeting also addressed other matters of mutual concern.
