Azerbaijan University of Languages to host international conference on Norwegian scientist

Baku, October 25 (AZERTAC). A scientific-practice conference called “Thor Heyerdahl and Azerbaijan” is to be held in Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on Wednesday.

The conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan`s independence, the 200th jubilee of the establishment of Oslo University and the 30th anniversary of Norwegian explorer, adventurer, and scientist Thor Heyerdahl`s first visit to Azerbaijan is organized by Azerbaijan University of Languages and Norway`s Oslo University.

According to AUL, the conference will bring together representatives of Azerbaijan Ministry of Education, Norway Embassy in the country, Azerbaijan office of STATOIL and visitors from Norway, the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), France, Georgia and Russia.

The conference will feature discussions on Thor Heyerdahl`s visits to Azerbaijan and his role on the establishment of relations between the two countries, report by Thor Heyerdahl`s son Thor Heyerdahl and other issues.

The conference will last till Sunday.
