Azerbaijan win 5th international wrestling tournament dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev
Kyiv, December 10 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijan wrestling team have won the 5th international junior wrestling tournament dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day.
Efgan Khashalov weighing in at 54kg, Hajımurad Magomedsaidov at 76kg and Igbal Hajizade at 100kg claimed gold medals, while Ulker Babayeva and Panah Ilyasli grabbed silvers in the 40kg and 63kg divisions respectively.
Leyla Gurbanova weighing in at 52kg and Fuzuli Huseynov at 54 kg garnered bronze medals of the tournament.
According to the total medal counts, Azerbaijan topped the competition, followed by Belarus and Romania.
A two-day tournament brought together about 235 male and 126 female wrestlers from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Moldova, Russia, Romania, and Uzbekistan.
