Azerbaijani chess players to compete in Vienna Chess Open 2013
Baku, August 13 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani chess players will test their strength at the 18th Vienna Chess Open to take place on August 17-25 at the Vienna Town Hall - Stiege 1, Lichtenfelsgasse 2 - in the Austrian Capital.
The event will be divided in four groups: Group A: Open to all / 9 rounds CH-system, Group B: rating Elo U2000 / 9 rounds CH-system, Group C: rating Elo U1600 / 9 rounds CH-system, Group D: rating Elo U1600 / 5 rounds CH-system.
Azerbaijani chess players including Namig Guliyev and Hafiz Karimov will compete in Group A, while Rufat Abdullayev in Group B.
All tournaments will be evaluated according to FIDE-rules. The time control in the Groups A and B will be 40 moves/ 90 min. Rest 30 min. + 30 sec./move.
The prizes in the main group will be distributed as follows: € 2.000/ € 1.500/ € 1.200/ € 1.000/ € 800, etc.
There will also be prizes for category groups, age groups, ladies, seniors and local players.
The last edition took place in 2011 and was won by GM Marijan Petrov.
