Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation visits Sankt Petersburg

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov has visited Sankt Petersburg to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of CIS and celebrative events marking the 70thh anniversary of the Victory in the 1941-1945 war.

At the meeting of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly, Mr Asadov was presented with the Friendship Order bestowed upon him by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. He received the award from chair of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.

As part of the visit Mr Asadov met chairman of the State Duma Sergey Naryshkin and Valentina Matviyenko to discuss prospects for developing inter-parliamentary relations and expanding cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.

The Parliament Speaker also met his Kazakh counterpart Kabibulla Dzhakupov.
