AZERBAIJANI PM ATTENDS MEETING OF CIS COUNCIL OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT
Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade attended Thursday the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Ashgabad.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhammadov inaugurated the meeting.
He expressed hope in further enhancement of ties among CIS countries in social and economic fields.
The meeting discussed the main trends of development of civil aviation, increasing of security of flights in CIS states, creation of joint air defense system of CIS in 2008, extension of ties in economic and humanitarian fields among the member states, improvement of customs rules and other issues.
Prime Ministers Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine and Karim Masimov of Kazakhstan offered to prepare an economic development strategy of CIS.
At a briefing with journalists after the meeting, Viktor Yanukovych, who chaired the meeting, said they reviewed 27 documents on cooperation in various sectors including economic, transport, standardization, educational, financial and military.
The next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government will be held in Minsk.
After the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov met with the heads of government.
