Azerbaijani wine-maker presents its products in Japan
Tokyo, March 5 (AZERTAC). The Shamkir-based Sharg Ulduzu LLC represents Azerbaijan in the Foodex 2014 Japan, Asia’s most respected international food and beverage trade show.
The stand of the Sharg Ulduzu company aroused a keen interest of the participants and visitors.
Director of the firm Asgar Alirzayev told AZERTAC correspondent that the company owns a vineyard area of 108 hectares. The samplings were brought from France, Iran and Georgia.
He said that wine-making is a traditional business in Shamkir. According to him, the plant produces 18 sorts of wine. The products of the company interested both Japanese and other foreign firms.
The Director said that the first batch of wine was sent to Japan in October last year in accordance with the contract with the Orient Star company.
“Our products sell in not only Tokyo but other Japanese cities. The samples of our wine have been recently sent to the city of Sapporo. We are hopeful that our products will satisfy Japanese buyers,” he said.
Representative of the Japanese firm Jetro Takashi Tsunemi said the experts praised the quality of the Sharg Ulduzu firm.
The 39th Foodex 2014 trade show brought together the world`s leading companies specializing in production of food and beverages as well as governmental agencies and organizations. The show held at the huge Makuhari Messe gathered a total of 2,808 exhibiting companies from 78 countries and regions worldwide.
