Azerbaijan`s audit service development concept presented at European Parliament

Baku, October 6 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s audit service development concept has been presented at an event co-organized by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the European Group of International Accounting Networks and Associations (EGIAN) in Brussels.

The concept was presented by chairman of Azerbaijan Chamber of Auditors Vahid Novruzov and member of the Council of the Chamber of Auditors, independent auditor Altay Jafarov.

"Implementing the new audit reform: how to ensure the creation of a new vibrant market focused on quality" roundtable was hosted by the European Parliament. It featured debates and discussions over a range of implementation issues, including the permitted extension of the mandatory rotation period in the event of public tendering or joint audit; the tendering process; the provision of non-audit services and the possible future direction of SME audits. The event also provided an opportunity to hear the views of the European Parliament, the European Commission, institutional investors, the business community, and the auditing profession on the desired future shape of the audit market.
