Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency, AmCham to establish mutual cooperation mechanisms

The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AFSA) recently hosted a meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) to discuss state-led initiatives aimed at fostering a sustainable and competitive business environment.
The Agency is spearheading systematic reforms to enhance accessibility for food industry stakeholders. Key highlights include the full digitization of import-export operations, allowing entrepreneurs to apply for and receive permits in real-time through streamlined electronic platforms, as well as significant improvements in the quality and turnaround time of laboratory testing to facilitate the rapid movement of goods. Strategic measures to bolster the international presence of Azerbaijani products have already resulted in the export of food products to 73 countries worldwide.
The sides agreed to ensure closer and more effective communication with entrepreneurs.
