Mingachevir, December 18, AZERTAC
Mingachevir has witnessed a notable increase in tourism, with visitors staying in the city’s nine hotels and guesthouses in 2025, reflecting growing interest in the Azerbaijani city.
According to the Mingachevir City Statistics Department, the city welcomed around 15,113 tourists, mostly locals (14,721), alongside 392 foreign visitors from Belarus, the Czech Republic, Italy, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Germany. Efforts are underway to attract more tourists and further develop the local tourism sector.
Starting in 2026, the Mingachevir Regional Tourism Department plans to boost tourism by organizing info-tours for travel companies, guides, and bloggers; highlighting the eco-potential of the Kura River, including the Mingachevir–Varvara Route with its eight islands; holding investor meetings; and preparing future hiking trails around Bozdag Mountain by 2027.
