AZERI MP TO ATTEND PACE COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Member of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) of the Azerbaijan Republic Gultekin Hajiyeva on 10 September has left for Paris to partake at the meetings of the PACE Committees on monitoring, political issues, legal affairs and human rights.
In meeting of the Monitoring Committee, co-rapporteurs will make report on Azerbaijan, discuss the issues concerning fulfillment of commitments taken by Ukraine, Moldova and Serbia before the Council of Europe, debate on the frozen conflicts and focus on visits to Montenegro and Serbia, etc.
At the Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee, it is expected to consider problems related to the role of European Convention on human rights in the process of admission to the European Union, as well as ratification by Russia of the 14th Protocol of this Convention, the status of Kosovo, and a number of other questions.
Agenda of Committee of Political Affairs includes appeal of the Kazakh Parliament to receive observer status, the European Code on conducting secret ballot, situation in Cyprus, cooperation of the CE with the North African countries, use of double mandate (national and European) of the Assembly members, etc.
MP Hajiyeva’s visit is to complete 14 September.
