Baku hosts Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia business forum
Baku, December 10 (AZERTAC). The Baku Business Center has today hosted an Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia business forum as part of a visit of a Saudi Arabian delegation led by Governor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) Abdullatif bin Ahmed Al-Othman and SAGIA`s deputy director, Prince Saud Bin Khalid Al-Faisal to Azerbaijan.
The first Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia business forum was organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).
The event brought together Azerbaijani and Saudi Arabian businessmen operating in industry, oil, construction, food, education, business, ICT and finance. Before the forum, the participants viewed an exhibition on Baku Business Center`s social and economic development. They were informed about Azerbaijan`s economy and projects implemented in the country.
Delivering a speech at the event, Azerbaijani minister of economy and industry Shahin Mustafayev hailed Azerbaijan`s relations with Saudi Arabia in a variety of fields. He also underlined the importance of such forums in stimulation of business initiatives, determination of new cooperation opportunities and expansion of commercial-economic relations. The minister said that the two countries had signed more than 10 documents on cooperation in economic, trade, and investment spheres. It was noted that 6 Saudi Arabian companies are operating in Azerbaijan and they have invested $368 mln in the country`s economy.
In his turn SAGIA Governor Abdullatif bin Ahmed Al-Othman expressed his gratitude for the efficient meeting and praised the development of ties between the two countries. He invited Saudi Arabian businessmen to Azerbaijan.
Other speakers at the event included head of AZPROMO Rufat Mammadov, representative of the Saudi Fund for Development Muhammad Al-Bashir, and Director General of Azersun Holding Savash Uzan.
