Baku hosts Azerbaijan-US ICT forum
Baku, December 4 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijan-US ICT forum has been organized in Baku by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, US embassy in Baku and US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC).
Opening the forum USACC chairman Rza Vaziri stressed the role of the event in strengthening relations between the two countries.
Azerbaijani minister of communication and information technologies Ali Abbasov spoke about the current state of and prospects for the US-Azerbaijan ties. The minister described the forum as a significant event in Azerbaijan`s ICT sector.
“One of main directions of our policy is to free Azerbaijan from energy sector. Revenues from energy resources are directed to development of non-oil sector,” the minister added.
Abbasov also said the Azerbaijani government was ready to support all kinds of projects in non-oil sector.
Delivering a speech at the event US ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar underscored the successful economic policy of Azerbaijan and expressed confidence that it would also contribute to development of ICT sector in the country. He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of ICT.
