Baku, November 27 (AZERTAC). A presentation of the fourth cycle of Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction`s award competition, which celebrates projects and visions that contribute to a more sustainable built environment and features total prize money of USD 2 million, has been held in Baku.
The competition seeks leading projects from industry professionals and bold ideas from the “Next Generation” that contribute to sustainability within architecture, building, civil engineering, landscape and urban design, as well as construction materials and technologies.
Speaking at the event, CEO Holcim (Azerbaijan) OJSC Rossen Papazov highlighted the aim of the competition, saying “the Holcim award is an enormous opportunity to gain visibility and to compare projects and ideas with those of peers”.
The event was attended by representatives of the government bodies, as well as private institutions.
The competition has two categories with different requirements, including “main category” and “next generation” (young professionals and students category).
The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction was created in 2003 to raise awareness of the important role that architecture, engineering, urban planning and construction have in achieving a more sustainable future - and to encourage critical interdisciplinary and long-range perspectives on a local, regional, and global basis.
