Chairmen and judges of several countries` Constitutional courts visit Azerbaijan parliament
Baku, July 13 (AZERTAC). A group of chairmen and judges of constitutional courts of several countries who participated in events marking the 15th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan visited Azerbaijan`s parliament where they met speaker Ogtay Asadov.
The discussions focused on a wide range of issues, including cooperation among judicial bodies, development of interparliamentary ties.
Speaker Asadov underlined the importance of such meetings in terms of exchange of experience among relevant bodies.
Asadov stressed the role of the Azerbaijan Constitutional Court in constitutional and secular state building. He added the Constitutional Court and parliament of Azerbaijan enjoy close relationship. The Speaker pointed out Azerbaijan`s Constitutional Court puts special emphasis on exchange of experience with its foreign counterparts.
Chairmen of foreign constitutional courts spoke of their participation in events held in Baku to mark the 15th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan. The also underscored the importance of their meetings held as part of these events. The chairmen said they intend to develop relationship with the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan. They also praised accomplishments made in constitutional state building in Azerbaijan since the country regained independence.
