CIBC MEMBERS MEET RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR AND RUSSIAN TRADE REPRESENTATIVE IN BAKU
Members of the Caspian Integration Business Club (CIBC) met Thursday Ambassador of Russia to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov and the Russian Trade Representative in Baku Yuri Shedrin.
President and General Executive Director of CIBC Telman Aliyev said the Club`s second session was devoted to Azerbaijan-Russia economic relations.
Aliyev spoke about the CIBC and said it brings together 100 companies from 30 countries.
He said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is the honorary member of the club.
Telman Aliyev awarded Vasili Istratov and Yuri Shedrin with titles of the honorary member of the club.
Istratov underlined Russian-Azerbaijan relations are being developed, and that they have already acquired strategic character.
He stressed President Ilham Aliyev was one of the first world leaders to congratulate Vladimir Putin on his wining Duma elections.
Shedrin said last year trade between Russia and Azerbaijan grew by 32.8%.
He underlined 308 Russian and 115 joint companies are operating in Azerbaijan.
The Russian Trade Representative spoke about a program for long-term cooperation until 2010.
He stressed the leaders of the two states had set a task to bring bilateral trade to $2 billion.
