City Challenge Baku kicks off with car parade

Baku, October 25 (AZERTAC). City Challenge Baku has today started in the capital of Azerbaijan with a car parade involving seven different car brands, with the top sports car manufacturers BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

City Challenge races are a spectacular urban motorsport experience with excitement, fun and action for children and adults alike.

The inauguration ceremony featured a press conference by the organizers and the presentation of race cars.

City Challenge CEO Hartmut Beyer said a temporary 2.1km-long race track was installed around the impressive Azerbaijan Government House, near the seaside boulevard and the Caspian Sea.

According to him, the show will be broadcast to 300 million people in 120 countries worldwide.

The races will be held around the Government House. One circle extends to 2,300 meters. Race cars overcome this distance in about 54 seconds.

The event is held with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Motorsport Federation of Azerbaijan.
