COMMISSION ON CASPIAN BIO-RESOURCES HELD REGULAR MEETING IN ASHAGBAD
The Commission on bio-resources of Caspian held its regular 27th meeting in Ashgabad. Heads of fishing companies from Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, scientists, ecologists, lawyers, the international and national experts have taken part in meeting.
Discussed was the question on specification of volume of the quota, given to the countries located on the Caspian basin for sturgeon. Participants exchanged views concerning joint research works on the sea, studying and estimation of present condition of bio-resources of the Caspian, carrying out of actions for preservation of the diverse biological sea world, etc.
The Commission on bio-resources of Caspian has been created in 1992 under the initiative of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan, and in 2002 Iran also became its member.
