CONFERENCE ENTITLED “HUMAN RIGHTS AND TRADE UNION MOVEMENT IN AZERBAIJAN” HELD
The Conference was initiated by the Trade Unions Confederation and Human Rights Institute of the NASA within the frame of the series of scientific conferences “Azerbaijani statehood: sustainable development”
Opening the Conference, director of the Human Rights Institute, doctor of political sciences Rovshan Mustafayev told of the urgency and significance of the issue.
Deputy chairman of the Trade Unions Confederation Agil Dadashov stressed the rising role of trade unions in ensuring social justice, rights of workers.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis permanent commission for social policy Hadi Rajabli, chairman of the Republic committee of the independent trade union of entrepreneurs and scientists, scientific-industrial enterprises Tofig Guliyev updated the audience on the protection of social rights in Azerbaijan, ratification of the European Charter, role of trade unions in building a legal, democratic state, activity of trade unions.
The conference participants stressed the role of trade unions in implementation of economic and social reforms, protection of human rights.
