CONGRESS OF WORLD NEWS AGENCIES WRAPS UP IN SPAIN
Director General of the influential Italian News Agency ANSA Giulio Pecora opened the morning meeting. Program managers of the Agency Stephanie Guerrillo and Simon Gunter presented their programs dedicated to development of new technologies.
Then, General Director of the Spanish News Agency (EFE) Lola Alverez chaired the meeting. Director-consultant of the International Media-Consulting Group “Innovation” Claudio Epsent spoke of the future of the information agencies and tendencies in development of mass media.
In the framework of Congress, it was arranged a photo-exhibition where were demonstrated works of photo-correspondents of the world news agencies. Three works of AZERTAC photo masters aroused interest among the participants. Osman Kerimov got the first prize.
As stated, president of the Spanish Senate Francisco Javier Rojo Garcia has attended the closing ceremony of Congress. The same day meeting gathered the heads of news agencies - members of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA), the participant of which is also AZERTAC. Participants discussed the work done in the past period and agreed to hold the next meeting in June in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria.
