Councillor Kasim Ali hails friendly relations between Azerbaijan and UK

Councillor Kasim Ali, Leader of the Kensington and Chelsea Labour Party and the Labour Group of Councillors, praised the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and the UK in an interview with AZERTAC.

“The Embassy of Azerbaijan is in our borough. I visit the embassy, and I know the ambassador and the team. I think the launch of the Friends of Azerbaijan Group in Parliament is a significant step forward—both from the embassy and its team, as well as from the UK and Azerbaijani governments,” Kasim Ali said.

“I remember when events were unfolding in your country, and everyone was discussing them. I believe that most people who wish for peace would want to see that part of the world not only peaceful but also prosperous. Trade is crucial—not just friendship and peace, but also trade relationships, business support, technology, and student exchanges,” he emphasized.

“What fascinates me is the number of students coming from Azerbaijan to different universities, such as LSE. I am aware of this because I have been a student adviser for many years and am actively involved in education,” Kasim Ali added.
